Dreams do come true!

Not since the announcement of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s engagement has there been such attention given to a royal wedding.  On November 16, news of Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine “Kate” Middleton’s engagement was announced on the official website for the British Monarchy.

“The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton. The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.”

Since then, the world has been abuzz about everything from the ring that Price Charles gave his fiancée to the dress that she will be wearing on their wedding day. We learned that Prince William presented Kate with Princess Diana’s Engagement Ring when he proposed. The ring is made from 14 diamonds encircling a sapphire – a gesture he says was very sentimental and important to be sure that his late Mother is part of this significant moment in his life.

The Royal wedding will take place on Friday, April 29, 2011, according to the British Monarchy Twitter. It will take place at Westminster Abbey, the venue for the 1947 wedding of the then Princess Elizabeth, William’s grandmother the Queen. Here’s a look at the *fabulous* sketches created especially for Kate Middleton from couture wedding designers. This is a glimpse into Kate’s world and some of the beautiful gowns that she will have to choose from.

Couture Calligraphy

Calligraphy is the art of beautiful handwriting and skilled penmanship. Before the invention of the printing press some 500 years ago, it was the way books were made. Laura Hooper is a favorite of mine when it comes to Calligraphy! She brings her artistic skills and creativity to a whole new level with chic hand-drawn maps and couture letterpress invitations.

Based out of the Los Angeles area, she works with clients both nationally and internationally. This comes to no surprise as her work has received numerous accolades and press. Kudos to Laura who has provided services for several Hollywood celebs such as Jennifer Lopez, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

Diana & George – Nothing but bliss

L-O-V-E is in the air! The Fabulous Bash wrapped up a beautiful wedding invitation set for Diana & George last month. Picture burnt sugar and butter creme paper accented with espresso brown ribbon – an elegant intro to their upcoming event! This gorgeous couple will be tying the knot in September at Rancho Bernardo Inn. *TFB* is honored to be there to manage their big day! It was such a treat when we received an email from Diana with a sneak peek of the recent photo shoot she and George had with Marissa & Jojo Feliciano of Felici Photography. With secluded spots in Ramona, California and the Mt. Woodson Golf Course as backdrops for their Engagement Session, these photos are a must share! Take a look at some of the romantic images they captured on their Ramona adventure – nothing but bliss!

*Fabulous* Photo Booths!

A very fabulous way to add some zest to any event or wedding reception is by adding a photo fun booth into the mix of the festivities! There are so many imaginative ways that you can get your guests to interact and turn ordinary photos into memorable moments. One of my favorites is Super Ultra Mega Booth (aka SUM Booth). What a fun surprise for the bride and groom to check out all of these photos after the wedding! Little did they know how much fun their family and friends were having at the booth! What a nice touch for them to send these out to their guests after the wedding with personalized Thank You notes!

Karrlie & Alex – Fiesta fun!

Family, food, and a fun fiesta in Del Mar, California made for a delightful day in honor of Karrlie and Alex! This fun-loving couple decided to bring their family and friends together for a night filled with authentic Mexican cuisine, live music, and nonstop dancing to celebrate their wedding! Each and every guest felt at home during the event which begun with a beautiful wedding ceremony at Morgan Run in Rancho Santa Fe. For the reception, it was fitting to hold it at an estate owned by the groom’s aunt and uncle, which overlooked a gorgeous ocean view. This day was undeniably filled with laughter, love, and joy!

Ooh-la-la! ban.do

I came across this very cute and pretty idea called ban.do!  I love the creativity it shows – just check out the lovely logo and inspiration wall above! Brought to life by Jen and Jamie, these two Stylists from Los Angeles created ban.do! In 2008, they went from making fun and beautiful hair pieces for friends and family to a very chic and stylish brand that is now known worldwide! What I love about ban.do is the whimsical and colorful embellishments they use to create each amazing hair piece! The ban.do brand truly makes decorating your head oh-so-fun!

Something that makes me say ooh-la-la is their “ban.do black label”. This couture line is made with a vintage touch which they describe as “the cream of the crop, the tippity top. our most exclusive line.” Sounds so fancy, right? Well, that’s because it is! Here’s one of my favorites from this collection, it’s called “she loves”.

If you adore this piece, it’s a one-of-a-kind so… chances are someone has already beat you to it! Not to worry, Jen & Jaime offer you the opportunity to contact them for something custom that is similar! This is perfect for brides or fashionista’s who thrive on something they can literally call “their own”.

Now, on to the “for the bride” collection which of course includes beautiful jeweled pieces that will make any bride feel like a million bucks. They are feminine and gorgeous, perfect for a special occasion! My favorites are “no.11″ and “no.115″ shown below.

Wow, impressive isn’t it? I want one, don’t you? Now, believe me – I can go on and on about ban.do but, I wouldn’t be able to do it justice! My advice to you is to go and see for yourself. There is so much more to explore so check out ban.do online for more fancy and even simple headpieces along with neat items such as belts and corsages! I think I’ll be ordering the “b” from their “heart by ban.do” collection as seen below in purple. How can I resist such cute hair candy? Plus, their motto says it all… “feel pretty. wear ban.do.” Enjoy.

Cheryl & Nick – Picture perfect celebration!

Temecula Wine Country was the gorgeous setting for a day made just for Cheryl & Nick. The surroundings were picture perfect for this very special celebration. Family and friends enjoyed the festivities which turned out to be a night filled with fun surprises and hours of dancing! Nick prepared a special dance number which incorporated the groomsmen. The crowd loved it! Little did he know, Cheryl had a surprise of her own. A romantic serenade from a bride to her groom kicked off the biggest party of their lives. The Fabulous Bash was very excited to be a part of this wonderful event. We also enjoyed crafting their wedding invitations that set the tone for this beautiful winery wedding.

Stephanie & Ray – How sweet it is!

A gorgeous San Diego day was the backdrop for the beautiful wedding of Stephanie & Ray in La Jolla, California. This couple was sweet and radiated LOVE. Their wedding day was unforgettable and truly one-of-a-kind. The soft elegant colors made for a fresh and modern ambiance at their seaside reception. It was such a pleasure to have worked with them in planning and coordinating such a perfect day.  We also had a lot of fun creating and designing their wedding invitations as well. What an honor it was.
